The text message you specify should be a proper RAW IRC message, so don't play with it if you don't know how to do these. Additionally, while newlines are also not assumed here as with the IRC::print function, the RFC specifies that newlines are a CR+LF pair, even if most servers will accept a mere newline. It's best to play it safe and use \r\n instead of just \n.
